I like coffee but I’m not crazy about it. I like it because it smells good and it’s a legal, safe, fast-acting upper. It’s a quick fix for extremely lazy mornings and pulling an all-nighter. But if I’ll be a subject at a blind taste test between brewed and instant, I won’t be able to tell the difference.

Nescafe Box French Vanilla CoffeeBut still, my casual attitude towards coffee didn’t stop me from trying the New Nescafe Ready-to-Drink Coffee. Asking myself, “Can it really live up to its #KapeSarapInABox caption?”, I was more curious than excited when I grabbed it from the beverage section of the supermarket. It has two flavors: French Vanilla and White Mocha.

Honestly, I think the two variants almost taste the same except for two not-so-obvious differences. White Mocha has a darker flavor while French Vanilla is milkier. Neither has wow factor. It’s sweet. It’s cold. It’s coffee. That’s it.

But then who am I, right? I’m a self-confessed coffee agnostic. Taste it for yourself. Each #KapeSarapInABox costs P19 and packs 98 calories. If you like, then it’s a steal, low-priced and low-cal. If you don’t, then at least you’ve tried it once.
